I was hoping to be done with last week's book by now, but alas - I'm not. I'm so close, though! So, you can probably guess that I'm still reading Small Great Things by Jodi Picoult. I spent a lot of the week editing, which cuts into reading time. But! I've been enjoying the book, and my editing is going to be done before the end of the week (IT WILL, I SWEAR IT), so I'll be all ready for the #DiverseAThon to start on Sunday. Hurray!
Happy reading! And read below for my #DiverseAThon TBR!
My #DiverseAThon TBR!
I'm really excited to be participating in the #DiverseAThon reading challenge, which is where you read as many diverse books as possible in 7 days. It starts at midnight on January 22 and goes until 11:59 pm on January 29. I'm super pumped with how this #DiverseAThon lands in my calendar! I'll be traveling for work that entire week, so I'll have lots of time to be reading in both my hotel and at various airports. I've got my Kindle all stocked up and I'm ready to go!
I've set a pretty ambitious goal of reading four books that week, but in my defense, one of them is an essay rather than a book. Here's my #DiverseAThon TBR (plus two bonus books, if I'm feeling extra ambitious/decide sleeping is for losers).
I did a thing - I signed up for NetGalley! I already have so many books to read, but there are many MANY more that are coming out that I can't afford to buy right now. So! NetGalley! And the first book that I was approved to read is this one, about a trans superhero. AND I'M SO PUMPED ABOUT IT!
I've been waiting to read this book for months, and I'm not going to wait anymore! This is the perfect time to dive right in, and I can already tell that I'm going to love it.
An obvious choice, and another I've been holding onto and waiting to read.
This is touted on Goodreads as the first piece of science fiction written by a black woman. Say no more - I'm here for it.
History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera - I preordered this and it finally came out this week and I can't wait to read it!
Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly - I went to see the movie this past weekend with my cousin and it was AMAZING oh my goodness, everyone needs to see this. And that makes me so pumped to read the book.
Is anyone else participating in #DiverseAThon? What are you planning to read?
