Another week, another book. I finished Angels and Demons last weekend while we were at my parents' house (more on that next week) and then left it there for my dad to read. I love sharing the books I read with people - it's one of my favorite things to do (and, as my mom pointed out, something I'm getting better at - I used to hoard books). So, on Monday night, I started a new book.
Glass Sword, by Victoria Aveyard
You might remember that I read Red Queen back in October - Glass Sword is the sequel. I've been meaning to get to it since then, but just... I don't know. I guess I needed a break from home grating I found Mare to be. Which... sadly, hasn't changed in the sequel. In any case, I'm not flying through it, but I'm reading it at a decent clip. I'm hoping to be long done and on to the next series I'm going to dive into by the time H and I start our holiday travels - those are all Kindle ebooks. I have to say, while the pictures are probably going to be pretty boring (black and white Kindle covers, after all), the ease of reading an ebook while traveling is too good to pass up. But for now, I'm back in Norta. Sort of.
All I can say is - less Mare, more Kilorn, Cal, and Shade. Amirite?*
*Okay. I'm a feminist, and I love strong female characters in books. But this series has really crappy female characters! It's probably because of the love interest factor (aside from Shade, who is Mare's brother), but all of the male characters in these Red Queen books are so much more interesting than the females! I kind of hate it, but I'm in it. Guh. If you want to know more of what I'm talking about, check out my full review of Red Queen on Fangirlish.
