Well, today I was supposed to write about USA Today’s Seven New Wonders of the World. But… I looked at the list, and it was beyond disappointing. They listed “Internet” as a wonder of the world. INTERNET!! I mean, it’s cool, but a world wonder? Sigh. Anyway. I’ve decided to write about something else. We spent the last five days with a married couple whom H was friends with in college. They were wonderful hosts, and we had a great time sitting around a bonfire with them, chatting with them while we relaxed, and shooting guns with them (because that’s always fun). But what was most difficult for me was where they call home, now. See, we were visiting them several hours south of us in the Midwest. But they currently are living in my favorite place in the whole world – the mountains of the west.
I want to go back so badly.
H and I have been talking about planning a trip for months, but it never seems to work out. It’s hard for him to take vacation, and I hardly have any money. Plus, our free weekends are few and far between. But I want to go back! That is where I feel most myself, most free, most who I want to be.
I’m really hoping we get back out there soon.
So, instead of talking about what a wonder the internet is, I thought I’d show you this one picture that may or may not make you want to drop everything and move to the mountains. That’s what it did for me, when I was there.
