Welcome to my website. I mostly talk about books and writing, but you never know what else I might chat about. I'm glad you're here!

Freaks and Geeks (aka, the Time a Celebrity Replied to My Tweet)

After I finished Veronica Mars (and was extremely disappointed by the ending), I started watching Freaks and Geeks.  Why?  Because I wanted to be disappointed that there wasn’t more again, I guess.  I don’t know.  But believe me, I do not regret it. There are only 18 episodes in the entire series, but they are each fantastic.  I love the characters, I love how they made the show take place in 1980, and I love that a lot of these actors have gone on to do bigger and better things, but are still remembered for Freaks and Geeks, the short-lived cult show that tried, but couldn’t.  James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Busy Phillips, a host of guest stars and cameos – I was shocked and pleased to see all of the familiar faces on this wonderful and hilarious show.

I would recommend it to anyone.

But here’s where the story gets really cool (and the reason I mentioned Veronica Mars at the beginning).

There was one episode of Freaks and Geeks where Lindsay ditched her new friends (the freaks) and rejoined the mathletes.[i]  And she rocked, obviously.  And then her new rival, whose name I can’t remember,[ii] stepped up to the plate and choked.  And the mathlete from the rival school who beat her?  Percy Daggs III, also known, to Veronica Mars fans, as Wallace Fennel.

So, because I’m super cool (just kidding), I tweeted that I spotted Percy Daggs III in an episode of Freaks and Geeks!  Awesome!

Not only that, though.  HE WINKED AT ME.

And now, I can die happy.

I'm still over here, just fangirling away.

[i] All the cool kids are mathletes.  Just ask Cady Herron.

[ii] It doesn’t really matter, since she never shows up again anyway.
