Yesterday, during my last full day in Carolina, J1 and I went to see a movie. It was awesome for two reasons: 1) I haven’t been to a movie theater since Divergent, and 2) the movie was hilarious. The Other Woman was one of those that made me squirm and made me laugh out loud – the perfect combination in a funny chick flick. Here’s a quick synopsis:
Carly (Cameron Diaz) is a lawyer who appears to have met her perfect guy (Mark, played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). She shows up at his house to surprise him, and the door is opened by… his wife, Kate (Leslie Mann). Realizing that she is a mistress, she cuts off all contact with Mark, but then Kate shows up at her door, trying to figure out what to do with her life now. The two become unlikely friends, and they follow Mark and find… a third woman, Amber (Kate Upton). The three of them team up to take Mark down. Also, Nicki Minaj plays Carly’s secretary, and it is amazing.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars, because it was hilarious, but not Oscar-worthy or anything. I loved it. Kate Upton was surprisingly hilarious as the young, dumb, hot girl, Cameron Diaz plays a very convincing lawyer, and Leslie Mann plays the same character in basically every movie, but that character makes me laugh hysterically.
